Nike Run Club app programs not syncing with my Apple Watch Series 7

Hi I’m using a 5k training program on the Nike Run Club app. When I use the program runs my app is not taking in the miles from my Apple Watch Series 7 but when I do a random (non-programmed) run through the NRC app it will sync my speed and miles. Has anyone encountered this?

Am I still able to use the Activity app on my watch/will that sync in NRC?
