Home Videos play count not updating during sync
Up until recently I synced music, movies, and other videos to my Apple my devices using iTunes for windows. Now to do that, (thanks to a long story that I won't get into here) I have to use Apple TV and Apple Devices (also for Windows). Within the Apple TV app, I made a smart playlist that when a home video is played, it will drop out of the list. The command in the Smart Playlist dialog is "PLAYS - IS -- 0." So, I just finished watching the first video on the playlist (on my iPad) and then synced up using Apple Devices, expecting it to drop out of the list, but it didn't. The sync didn't update the "Plays" number to "1." It didn't seem to do anything at all, so that particular video didn't drop out of the playlist. I had to literally double-click on it within the Apple TV app, slide the time button to the right until 30 seconds until the end of the video, wait for the video to end, and THEN it recognized that the video had been watched. In other words, neither Apple Devices nor the Apple TV app is not recognizing "watches" on a synced iPad, it's only recognizing watches from the Apple TV app itself. My iPad is running 18.6.2. The Apple TV for Windows app version is 1.5.4.105 (1.1284.26883.0). The Apple Devices for Windows app version is 1.5.4.96 (1.1284.24577.0). Please no snarky answers like, "Just get a MacBook" or "Quit using windows" as that's not an option right now. I would just like to know if something can be adjusted so this works as desired (and intended), or if it's another one of those annoying Apple software mysteries that we just have to endure. Thanks in advance!
