Cannot Delete Item From MIDI Studio in Audio-MIDI Setup
Greets:
I've encountered an unusual issue.
I have a Native Instruments KONTROL MK3 MIDI controlle. I somehow left the hardware configuration enabled overnight, which is no biggie. Except...when I tried using the keybooard today, it was mostly unresponsive, even though it was powered on.
I opened MIDI Monitor to check for activity, and at one point the messages were reading "invalid," which made me wonder if I have accidentally hit a button on the keyboard that might have changed things. (I have low vision issues, so it's not always apparently of me changing things when I'm unable to see the screen from afar.) Sure enough, the setting was changed on the keyboard to MIDI 2.0. So, I changed it back to 1.0, and the keyboard did a reboot.
When I was still unable to get a response, I went into Audio-MIDI Setup, then opened up MIDI Studio to find the keyboard listed, and I did. When I tried deleting it, it would not do so. Reading the bottom text of the icon, I noticed that the MIDI 2.0 text. I was still unable to delete it, and I think the fact that it might be locked into MIDI 2.0 might be why the keyboard will no respond (except for accessing and exiting keyboard setup).
I did an online search, which instructed me to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL to find the driver. However, the keyboard was not one of them.
So right now, I'm stuck in knowing how to proceed, short of having to contact Apple.
FYI, my other MIDI devices are unaffected.
Thanks!
