FCP hangs during 'validating audio' process on macOS

Folks i made a detailed post below but have got no luck. Heres a different angle:

In the past when i opened FCP a window appeared with FCP logo and saying "validating audio.." After this the FCP timelime popped up and then it took abt an hour to load the project. Now straight after the opening window theres nothing, no window at all, but cpu at 100%. Is this a clue to something?

(Fyi lots of free space, updated software, deleted preferwnces, tried on other username, removed plugins, nothing works). Another fyi - all the backups frpm 6 months back dobt work. Anotger fyi: Other fcp libraries work fine.

You did not post an etrecheck report requested in the other thread. Common culprits that affect FCP can be "cleaners" that end up breaking the OS, Google's background processes, disk free space (20% minimum on boot drive), etc. An Etrecheck report can help the hive mind here help you.

Terry hi, Thank you. The external drive is 100% not the issue because 1) Every singly other file (there are about 200) including FCP library files - all work perfect on that drive. 2) There is over 2Tb (over 20%) of free space on that drive. 3) The auto-backups of the fcp lirbary which won't open are on a completely different external drive - and also don't open.

Update: That opening window inly disappears if i click anything on the mac. If i click open the library it brings it back.
