Why does iPhone XS Max require cable for CarPlay?

Hello,

I have a car that supports Wireless Apple CarPlay. My iPhone 15 Pro Max connects and works wirelessly with CarPlay without any issue. However, my XS Max only works with CarPlay when connected via Lightning cable – there is no option for wireless connection.

Is this behavior expected? Does the iPhone XS Max not support wireless CarPlay, or could it be a limitation of the car’s infotainment system?
