How do I recover disappeared text replacements on iPad Pro?

I’ve been using iPads and iPhones for many years. I think I still have an iPhone 2 and an iPad 2 somewhere around here. i’ve never had this issue before, but it’s very disconcerting and frightening. Something as simple as keyboard shortcuts/tax replacement all disappeared from my iPad. I’m signed into the right Apple account on both devices, icloud enabled (but I don’t see any specific settings for syncing keyboard shortcuts). I hard reset the iPad, nogo. iPhone has more than q00 shortcuts, ipad was reset to the default ‘omw’ as the only entry. It was working until recently. I haven’t found any solutions online even though apparently multiple people are seeing this issue since iOS 15. I’m on 18.5. If something as basic as keyboard settings can’t be coordinated via iCloud. I’m worried about losing personal data on one device or another, and then not having it to access at an important time. Also I’m wondering about security. Again, something as basic as keyboard settings shouldn’t be changing. If that’s not stable what else can change? Any suggestions would be helpful. Hopefully this doesn’t get deleted like another post I had that wasn’t worshipping Apple. I loved Apple products. I have many many of them, but when something isn’t right, I’m not going to be a blind fan boy.
