How can I get Photos to resume naming faces automatically across my Apple devices?

I use a macbook pro iphone 15 pro and 2022 ipad air. up until recently photos automatically named people in my photos or asked me to review more photos of individuals. This option seems to have stopped working. I can manually add names but after a wedding with hundreds of photos taken this is a tedious task. have I accidently turned off this feature and if so how can I turn it on again. I have left all devises charging overnight at the same time for a couple of nights so they should have synced together
