Setting up an email account 'other' on a Mac Pro

I am unable to complete the setting up of 2 very needed email addresses (all my music and graphic software is attached to them). I have contacted my hosts who say they are not getting an enquiry yet I am receiving an <unable to verify account name or password> message. I have deleted them, losing all my saved emails, and re-added them, but still they will not go online. I have checked all the settings 4 or 5 times. All is correct

I am running an older Mac OS (10.14.6) because all my music interfaces are attached and working, and all my other email accounts have gone online with no trouble.

Please help.

Hi,

Open the Mail app, go to Mail > Accounts, click Add Account, select "Other Mail Account", and then click Continue. You'll be prompted to enter your email address, password, and the incoming and outgoing server settings manually or automatically. After entering the details, click Sign In to complete the setup.

I've done all of that 5 times. It writes <unable to verify username or password>. I've checked with the hosts, and there is no IP or firewall block, it simply will not save. I've even deleted the accounts and re-built them. Nothing.
