How do I access font variables in Keynote for a variable font?

How do I access Font Variables in Keynote for a variable font?

I installed a font, Fraunces that has variables. Its variables are weight, optical size, softness, and wonkiness. I can't find where I can configure the variables and Keynote is setting the softness variable to it's least possible even though that's not the default and not even what Keynote shows in previews of the font.

It's installed in Font Book and other apps that read from Font Book such as Sketch show the variables and allow me to configure them so I know it's not a problem with how I installed the font.

Am I missing something? If anyone knows where in Keynote to adjust a font's variables that would be very helpful.
