How do I stop Norton pop-ups in Chrome on MacBook Pro?

I accidentally clicked on something (no idea what), and I started getting little Norton ads, "Someone is downloading your information, etc." Every 5 seconds or so a new notification would pop-up in the upper right hand side of my screen.

How I stopped the Norton Pop-Ups from popping up in the right-hand corner of my screen:

*In Chrome I clicked on the 3 dots to the right of my name/picture,

*Then I clicked on "Delete Browsing Date,"

*It gave me the option of how far back I wanted my browsing history deleted (24 hours, one week, etc.)

*For me the 24 hours choice was appropriate.

The pop-ups stopped immediately.

Hope this helps someone.

The re-titled is no better than the original... seems it would include the word "Solution" or some such, as opposed to a question mark (?)
