How can I stream Apple Music on Kids' Apple Watch SE?

I have iPhone 11 mini, managing child Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) with OS11. I have Apple Music family plan enabled, with child's Apple ID the same as Apple ID on the watch. The Apple Music app only shows Home, Radio, and Library. No way to search for or stream music, even though I have the full Apple Music family account. And the search function IS available on Apple Music on MY watch.

Can anyone help resolve this? Is this Apple's effort to force me to buy iPhones for my kids?
