Many carriers AT&T Call Protect, Verizon Call Filter, T-Mobile Scam Shield, etc, and in India --> Jio, Airtel, Truecaller, TRAI India, etc., can auto-block known spam numbers. Worth enabling.

You say call you, but then you suggest it's a group chat? Are they calling you or texting you? If it's a group chat, unless you block every single person in the group, all it takes is one person who you didn't block to be able to respond and you're really still in the group. It's very difficult to remove yourself from a group chat.
If you are getting junk phone calls, you need to understand that the number that you see that looks like it is calling is not really the actual number that is calling.
Junk callers use software to disguise the actual number that is calling. You don't know what the number really is.
You can block the number that you see on your phone, but the calls will continue to come in because you did not block the actual number that was calling.
if you’re truly desperate, just set a list of always contacts and set up parental controls for yourself
