Photos and Videos from iPhone fail to import to Mac

All,

IPhone 15 Pro max and Mac Book Pro and when connected using a USB-C cable and trying to import photos and videos newer they just don't import

Steps :

On iPhone wifi- off , Location Services - Off, Personal HotSpot - off

Mac OS : Sequoia 15.x

iPhone is unlocked and is on home screen

Connected using USB-C Cable

Click on Photos and then choose iPhone

Shows a list of new photos and videos

Select a single photo or video , choose option import

and keep waiting and nothing happens, no errors nothing

Anyone has any ideas why photos keep failing to import?

Thanks

I am guessing that you are not using iCloud Photos, is that correct?

What happens if you use the app Image Capture from your Applications folder?

  • What iOS is on your iPhone?
  • What macOS on your Mac? I'm running macOS 15.6.1, for instance. There is no 15.x
  • Where does your Mac's Photos Library reside-- in the Pictures folder of your internal drive, or on an external drive? or on a network? on iCloud drive?
  • What is your storage on this iPhone? At Settings>General>iPhone Storage, my phone says 50.5 GB of 128 GB used. What does yours say? Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iPhone?
  • What is your storage on this Mac? At System Settings>General>Storage, what does yours say? Do you have more than 10% free storage on your Mac?Do you have more than 10% free storage on your Mac?
