Unable to stream Netflix using iPhone personal hotspot : NW-3-6 error

Bought a smart tv and wanted to play Netflix in it. I used my personal hotspot for internet in the TV. Every app like, Disney, youtube, prime worked fine, until I tried Netflix. Netflix says there is not internet connection. It shows some nw-3-6 error. But when I try hotspot of a different phone, even with the same carrier, Netflix works perfectly.

If you own a Smart TV, you usually don’t need to rely on your iPhone’s Personal Hotspot to stream Netflix or other services. Most modern Smart TVs already come with popular streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and more built-in as part of their features.

If your TV does not include the streaming apps you want, you can ask the dealer or manufacturer about it. Sometimes apps can be added through the TV’s app store, or in some cases, the dealer may guide you on compatible streaming devices (such as Apple TV, Fire Stick, or Chromecast) that can provide the missing services.

It’s also important to note that many streaming platforms do not officially support streaming over a mobile Personal Hotspot due to licensing restrictions, bandwidth concerns, or quality limitations. For the best experience, connect your Smart TV directly to Wi-Fi or use a streaming device that supports the apps you need.
