I'm trying to install java onto my 2018 macbook air. It says it can't because I already have a newer version. Here's the thing... I try running java and it says I don't have java installed. I'm tired of this, so if someone can help that would be great.

Check that you have followed these instructions to install and enable java.
Java won't let me install it.
