Unable to stream Apple TV from iPhone 13 to Panasonic TV

Casting and AirPlay are 2 different things.

If your Panasonic TV supports casting from apps like Netflix or Youtube, then it likely does not support airplay form the Apple TV app. So no, you won't be able to Airplay Apple TV content to it.

What OS does your Panasonic TV run? You may be able to download the Apple TV app directly if it's running Android OS 8 or later.

You can always buy a different streaming device that supports AirPlay 2 instead of a new TV.

there are apps in app store which support chromecast you can try out

if it's ridiculous on apples behalf then suppose that is how one judge that, if apple were to abandon their own airplay 2 to implement the chromecast or miracast (supported by microsoft) then they would likely have to pay royalties to google and microsoft. few companies really go down that path as oppose to making their own std.

if you wish not purchase a new tv then you can connect an appletv box to the tv it will give you airplay 2 support and the appletv platform Apple TV 4K - Apple

and the box is often more powerful and stable than third-party tv manufacturers airplay implementation

You should make sure if your Panasonic TV works with Apple TV app or AirPlay. There is lack of information from you about tv model or way you want to watch your media. If you add it it will be easier to verify.

Yeah I’m pretty irritated about this too. We have a Sanyo tv and I think it’s ridiculous we would need to buy a new TV just to have AirPlay on it to stream from our phone.

I have a chromecast, I shouldn’t need to buy a new tv when there’s nothing wrong with this one.

i saw there was a work around by opening a Chrome search engine and going to Apple TV website from there but it doesn’t have the regular Apple TV available, it’s just Apple TV+.
