MacBook Pro Screen Suddenly Has Flickering Purple Lines

Today MacBook Pro began displaying flickering purples lines arranged horizontally in columns that were not present yesterday. No drops or damage occurred in the interim. The desktop is variably visible. Rebooting did not resolve the issue. I was able to screen share with another MacBook and "control" my MacBook perfectly. The desktop appeared normal on the second MacBook. A photo is included for reference. Does this signify a screen issue or a graphics controller issue or something else?

Thanks,

Todd

An external Monitor comes directly from the GPU, bypasssing the internal display altogether.

You have a hardware failure— Display, display cable, display assembly.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"
