Message app temporarily freezes after I delete a message

Since last update, and enabling the filters, the app freezes every time I delete a message and does not respond for at least 60 seconds if not longer. Closing it and reopening it or rebooting the phone does not fix this. Please advise if this is a bug or if there is a fix for this. I have a iPhone 15 Pro. I did turn on a filter for unknown senders if that is an issue.
