Logic Pro Trial 11.1.2 with Solid State Logic Matrix 2

I recently installed the Logic Pro 90-day trial on my Mac Studio, considering to buy it for compatibility with outside projects for mix clients. I have Pro Tools for this purpose as well but normally Cubase Pro is my DAW of choice. The Matrix works quite well with both Cubase and PT. The Matrix connects using MCU or HUI and it ships with a Cubase profile, PT profile and a Logic profile. When I opened Logic for the first time, it scanned my plug-ins and froze at plug-in 300-something. I aborted the scan and then I got the choice for setting up my control surface. Logic identified my controller as the SSL Nucleus (close enough) but I could not get it to stick. Sometimes it finds the Matrix, sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas?
