I have an iPhone 14SE. Yesterday I updated software to iOS 18.6.1.
Now my calendar search does not show FUTURE appointments.
Any suggestions.

I had the same issue when updating my iPhone 12 mini. Calendar search would only show same day appointments.
By chance however I could "resolve" the problem:
Use the global search of your iPhone to search for an existing appointment. From the list popping up scroll down to the section "Calendar" and selcet "In App search".
This brought me back to the Calendar app ... and surprisingly since then the search function in the Calendar app works as before and shows all past/future events as expected.
(Note: please check that you have activated "Search" in the settings for the Calendar app)
