Empty folder documents visible on my user home which I cannot delete

i had some weird sync problems with the iCloud. So I logged out fro the cloud, waited a time,, logged in and waited again. everything started syncing again. but: al folders in my documents iCloud map got the suffix 2. So: books 2 and school 2. I could easily rename them to the old names and that works. I checked it only iPhone and yes, no issues there. But: there is still a visible folder called documents in my home directory belonging to my username. it is empty, but visible, I have read and write rights, but when i move it to the bin, it makes a copy in the bin and retains the old folder. I thougt it might be the hidden copy mac os makes, but when I go to terminal mode and enter le documents I get an error:

Any thoughts upon that?

I'm not sure where this "iCloud log off/log on" thing came from, but it's a really bad idea. When you turn off iCloud, you have to disconnect the iCloud Documents folder from your Mac, so a whole new Documents folder has to be created, making two of them! How else could it work? You don't want to erase all your stuff in the one in iCloud, and yet you need one in the User's folder on your Mac that apps expect to send stuff to. It's bound to confuse everybody, including the Mac and me.
