Safari voice recording pauses after half a second in microphone transcription

when attempting to use microphone to transcribe my speech into text when searching in Safari, if I pause more than a quarter to half second it stops I do not have this problem with chrome, brave, opera, messages, or any other software that would allow me to dictate in the first place. What is the fix for this please? Thank you.
