Notification dot / app indicator impossible to press on Apple Watch SE

In the basic "modules" watch face, the date widget in the top right corner is so huge it makes the app indicator (such as music playing/stop watch dot) almost impossible to click to get to the app quickly. Is it possible to reduce the size of the date widget, if I really insist on using the "modules" face?
