I have a iMac computer that we bought in Nov. 2015. it was my husbands, but he has passed away, and I want to sell or give it away.

How do I delete or clean his information?

I have upgraded it to Monterey 12.7.6.

So sorry for your loss.

Since you’ve already upgraded the Mac to macOS Monterey 12.7.6, the safest and most thorough method is to completely erase the drive and reinstall macOS. This will also take care of that partition you created, so you don’t need to manually remove it first.

One more thing — if your husband’s Apple Account is still tied to the iMac and you don’t know the password, you’ll hit Activation Lock. In that case, you’ll need his Apple Account credentials, or proof of purchase to have Apple remove it.
