I purchased songs on my iPhone thru the apple music store. They will not transfer to iTunes. I have deauthorized the computer, reset computer, authorized the computer (only computer authorized), synced music on device, and also tried to transfer thru device and nothing. The purchases are still grayed out in iTunes under Device.

It says I have 83 songs that I am not authorized to transfer no matter what I do.

Purchases from the iTunes Store are in AAC/.m4a format. Any unhidden, undownloaded content will normally be shown in your library allowing you to stream or download on demand. Check the view menu to make sure that you haven't selected Only Downloaded Music. If needs be see Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support to unhide any hidden content and Redownload music - Apple Support to download it to local storage.

It is usually possible to transfer purchased tracks stored on the device into the local library provided it is authorized to the same ID. Are these items downloaded to the device, or are they in the cloud.

See also Authorization vs. association - Apple Community in case you have content from multiple IDs.
