iPad Pro 12.9" and 11" not charging after iPadOS 18.6 update

I have an iPad Pro 12.9in 4th gen and iPad Pro 11in 2nd gen. Both have recently been updated to iOS 18.6 and suddenly both have stopped charging.

Sporadically they will charge from a power bank and I’ve tried and checked all chargers/cables and even bought new Apple chargers and still not working. I’ve checked the ports, done resets and tried all suggestions but nothing

Help please

Given your assertion, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad(s) and Power Adapter(s):

I have an Ipad Pro 6th generation that just updated to 18.6.2 and now will only charge intermittently, after trying a whole host of Apple chargers with USB-C and trying the old USB to USB-C. Yes I have reset/rebooted it many times and yes the outlets are fine and chargers are all the right power and Apple. This happened right after the update. Seems like an Apple forced error or intentional to get us to spend more money. It's too coincidental right after the update. Is there a problem Apple???

Are you using a Apple USB-C Adapter - or some other third-party Power Adapter to charge your iPads?

Not all third-party Power Adapter support or properly implement USB PD (Power Delivery). Assuming that the Power Adapter is USB-C and rated at 20W or greater, the issue that you describe with inconsistent charging is often due to the Adapter not supporting USB PD.

QC (Quick Charge) and other proprietary charging standards are not supported by Apple devices.

Charging issues common to multiple devices is very likely to be due to the power source - and not the devices - unless the power source has caused damage to both devices that have been connected to it. As is, you would be very wise to quarantine the Power Adapter pending test with a known-good USB PD compliant power source.
