Choosing between iPad Air with M3 chip and basic iPad with A16 for 8 years of medicine studies

Hello, I need some expert advice. I would like to buy an iPad for school to take notes (and for other student activities such as searching for information on the internet... I would do presentations on my laptop), but I don't know which model to buy. I am currently entering my third year of high school and want to study medicine (6 years) in the future, so I would like the iPad to work there as well. That's a total of 8 years, which is quite a long time, and I don't know if it's possible for it to work that long (but I honestly think the iPad can handle it). So the question is: Should I buy an iPad Air with a better M3 chip, or will the basic version of the iPad with A16 be enough for me? I don't need any revolutionary performance, it will be enough for me if the tablet is able to function normally, at least somewhat smoothly, even at university. I'm not too concerned about battery life, as it can be replaced... Thank you in advance for your answer.

If budget permits, go for the M3 iPad Air, no reason to go with the more basic one if budget allows for the higher tier one.

Though the Basic iPad should be enough for notes and internet research.

With that said, you can expect around 5 to 7 years of software update support on any iPad, and maybe a couple more of app support, so 8 years of functionality is not out of the question.
