Ding... Ding... Ding. doesn't matter what's on or off. Beginning tonight my Powerbook Pro just keep beeping. It's driving me crazy. there has to be a way to shut it down. Even if no programs are booted, no internet, nothing, it keeps on beeping. I've rebooted numerous times, still Ding... Ding... Ding.

Also it is not the programmed warning sound, which should be a breeze. I just keeps beeping. Turn down the alert volume, no change. Beep... beep... beep. Shut down the network... beep... beep... beep.
They modified my response here. The problem is the USB C ports, which I've complained about often. My MacBook Pro has 4 USB C inputs, only one of which still works (most of the time). My comment, which they censored was in reference to the ineffectiveness of the USB C ports. There are tons of articles which explain the weakness of the USB C, why Mac chooses to stick with it is an absolute mystery. In any case it is this very weakness which was causing my MacBook Pro to keep beeping all the time as the USB C connection keeps shorting out, thus beep... beep... beep...

You stopped the short?
Something was plugged into the port and actively being used or not plugged into the port— this is not clear?
No. I just realized what I should've known from the beginning. It's a built in feature of the PowerBook Pro. Nothing can be done, or, at least, I havent discovered it yet. I still do have one of the 4 USB C ports which works most of the time, so I'm still in business. I'm doing as much as possible of my work requiring network connectivity on an older iMac which uses much more dependable connectors. Life is still good. This charging challenge is a bit more problematic. I suppose it's just a matter of time before the last of the USB C ports quits working and I'll have to buy a new machine.
Have you taken the MBP into an Apple Genius Bar for a free diagnostic check to see if it's hardware or software related? If so what did they say?
Speaking of software have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?
Tried disc first aid. and for a minute thought it worked. but nope... Beep. beep beep.
Figured it out! Shoulda known right off the bat! It's USB Ports. Apple found a connector and they're sticking with it. Problem solved.

Sadly, the Mac outlet isn't all that easy to work with. I did take it up to the university and they just verified what I already suspected.
