Just bought a new 2026 Honda CRV and using Apple Car play - siri will not read any incoming text messages . When I receive a text in the car, Siri does not read the incoming text and when I touch reply it won’t let me reply to the text. I can though send an original text using Siri with no problem.

In my vehicle on any of the texting apps-- I use Apple and What's App, Siri starts to read the message and then it fades out and is unintelligible. It worked 6 days ago and then just stopped working.
I also have a new 2026 Honda CRV EX-L with this same issue. It’s very frustrating. Judging by comments on Reddit this is a widespread issue with 2026 CRVs. I submitted a bug report to Apple so fingers crossed it helps. Resetting the infotainment systems and fully disconnecting and forgetting the car on my iPhone doesn’t fix the issue either.
Thanks for letting me know and for submitting that bug report - I am hoping when iOS 26 comes out and it also has new updates to Apple Car Play that maybe this will be resolved.
What I do now - is press button on steering wheel and ask Siri to read or re read text from ( I use the name ) and then Siri reads it to me.
