In settings when it says phone default or FaceTime as default

On my iPhone 15 in my settings when it says phone app FaceTime for default or PHONE 📱☎️, which one is better and what does it mean?

That setting controls which app is used by default when you start a call from another app, like Contacts. If you pick Phone, it will make a regular cellular call. If you pick FaceTime, it will try to make a FaceTime audio or video call instead. Phone is better if you want to be sure it works with any number, including landlines. FaceTime only works with Apple devices.
