How to re-set mouse after clean re-install of High Sierra

After doing a clean re-install of my OS 10.13.6, my wired mouse's custom settings need to be re-set.

I've reviewed the SYSTEM PREFERENCES for MOUSE, but it's not letting me restore my default actions. When I open MOUSE, a diagram appears with areas of the mouse connected by lines to drop down menus. The problem is, I expected a drop down list to include options such as copy, paste, delete, pan. But instead the options don't make sense. Why would I want to open MISSION CONTROL when I want to highlight and then copy a word?

And what do PRIMARY BUTTON and SECONDARY BUTTON refer to?

One setting I miss a lot is right click>click on word>drop down menu appears with actions like COPY, SAVE.

Also when working with the software Autocad Mac LT 2017, I have lost the action to pan the image while holding down mouse button.

How do I get these settings back?
