How do I fix Bluetooth problems after 18.6 update?

My Bluetooth devices (ear buds, Fitbit, rowing machine) will not function properly after the latest update. They connect and lose connection immediately. I've already restarted, forgot and repaired, etc., numerous times.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 18

If the force restart doesn’t work: Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.

First, did you force-restart your iPhone:

  • Press and quickly release VOLUME UP

     then

  • Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN

     then

  • Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears

The operative word here is QUICKLY for the first two buttons, then a long hold for the SIDE button; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.

Have you found a solution? I am going crazy dealing with this. You'd think with a major iOS coming soon that these final polish updates on a soon to be outdated OS would be stable!

iOS 18.6.1 is very stable. If it wasn’t you would see thousands of posts about it. You have to accept that this is a problem with your phone, not all phones, not even a significant number of iPhones, so you will have to troubleshoot it yourself, or make a genius bar appointment.

Bluetooth on Apple iPhone is an abomination. Mine drops out and tries to connect to other devices all the time making it unusable. Have tried everything and there is no solution.
Massive Apple fail.

If it's a “Massive Apple Fail” why don’t we see tens of thousands of posts about, and articles in every tech news site? There are an estimated 500 million iPhones with iOS 18, you would think a massive number of them would have reported the problem.

Have you done any troubleshooting, searched Apple’s support articles, and if you couldn’t find an answer contacted Apple support?
