Using WhatsApp via CarPlay I can receive and listen to messages and reply to them. If I wish to send a new message via the icon Siri asks “to H J U” repeatedly I’ve contacted WhatsApp help but the only work around is use Siri to send a message .

On your iPhone, on the home screen swipe down to access the search bar. Type in Siri voice. Then select anything other than English for example American voice two
That will fix the problem for now.
Pretty sure it’s only happened since the last iOS update. What’s also annoying is the red dot message notification doesn’t go after reading messages. Have to access the phone itself for the dot to go.
Same issue for me. You can just say the name of the contact you want to message and it will continue correctly to draft and send the message but it’s very annoying!
please fix the “HJU” issue WhatsApp or Apple ??
Just say the name of the contact anyway ignoring the HJU and it continues just fine.

In a slightly squeaky Siri voice too ( British female voice for me )

It’s happening with my wife’s phone and my phone on two separate types of cars! It’s an apple issue

Sorry but how do I change voice to American, happened after update a couple of weeks ago, we were abroad but still same now we are home, driving me mad lol
I should have said go to settings on iPhone as opposed to “Home Screen “
and type i setting ms search bar “ Siri voice “
from there select any other voice than English / maybe American voice 2
