Mail certificate suddenly not valid

Mail says certificate for server is not valid. Can access certificate - it is 3 days out of date. Can't see any check box to trust certificate. Screenshot below.

Is this an Apple issue or a mail server issue? I think the former as the same account is fully accessible on an iPad and an iphone.

Help, please.
