Sequoia OS not listing USB HDs (APFS) in Finder on MacBook

2025-0813..MacBook-Pro (16" 2019) Sequoia's OS, the "Finder" is not listing any USB HDs (APFS) connected by a powered 4-Port atolla Hub. Flash drives are shown ok in sidebar and when using Disk Utility, but not the USB HDs? Once in a long while a USB HD was shown connected, so I used Disk Utility to erase and reformat again, to APFS. Even after that was done, Finder did not list the drive in the side bar when my MacBook was shutdown and restarted?

How can I fix this?

Does Sequoia OS needs to be fixed to read all USB HDs connected to MacBook by port or by a hub?

Would be nice to at least identify ALL connected USB External HDs. so they could be formatted, etc..

You did say that it was a powered hub, right? How big is its power supply, and how many drives are hooked up to it?

What happens when you try connecting these drives directly to the MacBook Pro? Have you had any opportunity to use a different powered hub to see what happens?

I have no clue as to power supply of HUB-not listed on device. This atolla hub has 4-USB slots (on-off buttons) plus a USB re-charge port on the end of it. Usually 3 HD Connected and are turned on. I tried one at a time on different slots and also connected the USB drives one at a time with adapter directly, but finder did not recognize the drive in the sidebar, in applications/disk utility, or on desktop screen in any case. I do not have another powered USB Hub, or otherwise.

If Disk Utility does not recognize the drives when you connect them directly to the Mac, that would tend to be a sign that either

The drives are dead, or
You were using a "charging-only" cable that only had the power pins connected, not the data ones

In either case, unless you can get Disk Utility to see the drives, you're not going to get them to show up in Finder.
