Apple music does not work when hdmi sound system is plugged

I have a MacBook M1 Air. I am trying to connect it to an LG HT904 home cinema system via HDMI to listen to music. For some reason, whenever I do that,the Apple Music app freezes and never plays a song. No other app has this bug. Even the web player works! I tried this with the HDMI passthrough on and off, but both failed to work.
