Large iCloud backup size due to GoPro videos and manual backups
During the last few days I noticed that my iPhone backup was 56% of my iCloud storage ie 27,7 GB of my 50 GB. It had never been that much before. When I had a closer look it seems that GoPro videos which I had downloaded on to my phone were included. I quickly removed that in the backup but despite a few manual backups 27,7 GB is still the size of the backup.
- I can either switch off the icloud backup which should erase the present backup and then restart the automatic backup which I am hoping will result in a smaller backup in iCloud.
- Not do anything at all and hope that a future backup will be smaller.
Considering the 1st option, how long after I turn it off do the servers release the 27,7 GB and considering the 2nd option, how long before the iCloud servers catch up?
Contacts and images are also backuped to iCloud but I understand that these are seperate backup files ie deleting/erasing the 27,7 GB file will not affect my contacts or images. Right?
