Apps are opening automatically on MacBook Pro running macOS Sequoia

I'm running macOS Sequoia version 15.6 on a MBP and I encountered an instance of apps opening by themselves. I unlocked my computer this morning to find the activity monitor as well as my iCloud notes open. I was just using the computer the night before and I'm absolutely positive I didn't have either of these apps open. I'm very new to macOS and apple products in general, so I haven't even started to use iCloud yet.

My immediate concern, however unlikely, is that this indicates the presence of Malware. Has anyone experienced an issue like this and do you think it's cause for concern?

Two comments regarding Malware

Point One

The suggestion ( @ BDAqua ) to use the Etrecheck application is both good and may detect Malware

Refer image below

Point two

Malware getting onto the computer does not happen all by itself

It would require the User ( You ) to have either unwittingly downloaded the payload or purposefully have downloaded the software .

Then, to have given expressed consent ( Computer Password ) to allow the payload to commence the installation.
