Siri is not turning on flashlight on my iPhone 16 Pro Max

Someone please help! I have an iPhone 16 pro max and Siri use to be able to turn my flashlight on and off. Now every time I ask to turn my flashlight on, it’s says “sorry I can’t help you with that” I have a baby and I have use Siri to turn my flashlight on since she was brought home (did it with my son as well three years ago) now I have to try to get the baby calm while fumbling for a light and making bottles. My husband has an iPhone 14 Pro Max and his Siri turns his flashlight on and off. Ugh Apple needs to fix this issue unless it’s something on my phone

  1. Open the System Settings App and scroll down to "Accessibility"
  2. In the Accessibility tab, navigate down to "Vocal Shortcuts"
  3. Hit "Continue" on the "Set Up Vocal Shortcuts" page
  4. Repeat
  5. On the "Choose Action" page, scroll down to the System category and select "Flashlight". IMPORTANT - do NOT select the first option on the page("Siri Request").

6. Type in the prompt you'd use.

7. Follow the instructions on the next page. It will prompt you to say whatever phrase you wrote in step 6.

8. Hit "Continue" and you should be all set!

    • Double-check...Success :)

Troubleshooting SIRI:

A. Start with a Restart:

Refer to this link: Force Restart iPhone - Apple Support

B. Refer to these Links:

C. Disable then Enable Camera:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Screen Time
  3. Tap: Content & Privacy Restrictions
  4. Enter: Keycode
  5. Tap: Allowed Apps
  6. Tap: Camera (So it is Green-Colored)

D. Restore your iPhone from a Backup:

Have any backups of this iPhone prior to this occurrence? If so, restore your iPhone from one that has these photos (the most recent backup, ideally). If not, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always back up your device for recovery purposes. Important: Back up you iPhone prior to performing this restoration, should anything go wrong from here on out.
