MacBook Air M2 Screen Got Watermarks – Any Hope for Recovery?

My MacBook Air M2 was in my bag when a lot of drinking water spilled inside. Now the screen shows multiple lines, patchy marks under the display layer, and distorted colors.

The laptop still works fine otherwise, but the display damage is obvious. This is Day 2 and the marks are still there, changing slightly but not disappearing.

Has anyone had this happen before? Can it recover on its own, unfortunately i didnt have applecare soo does anyone have safe DIY tips for me .i'm literally down bad

Damage is done. It won't repair itself.

Highly unlikely.

Those are evidence of internal damage to the display assembly and/or the logic board. Liquid damage is often progressive as more components succumb to corrosion. Thus, liquid damage is hard to fix permanently, so be prepared to hear that your computer cannot be effectively repaired, or the cost of repair is nearly that of a replacement device.

Put your homeowners'/renters' insurance carrier on notice NOW of a potential total loss. That may be the only financial relief you get.
