Whenever I turn on Caps Lock which is often for my work. That stupid blue arrow wont go away. I've already turned off Full Keyboard Access in accessibility. The arrow is still there. Is there anyway to get rid of it? You can see the arrow below.
It's so annoying and really does interrupt with my work.
please note— this was a feature introduced back in the macOS Sonoma 2023...
You do have options, either turn it off for each use case, disable the new feature, or remove it totally.
Click on the caps lock symbol on screen will shut it off, the very next time you turn on caps lock ( to work in all caps) it will remain off for the duration until you hit caps lock again. This is how it works, for 1-cycle .
you can Disable Caps Lock Indicator—from the Terminal.app copy & paste:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/UIKit.plist redesigned_text_cursor -dict-add Enabled -bool NO
(note: your psswd will not echo on screen type it in any way, use the enter\return key to proceed.)
reboot is (or if ) necessary — I don't remember that detail...
to disable the caps lock altogether—
System Settings>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts>Modifier Keys>Caps Lock Key>> Caps Lock> No Action
