HKSV cameras stopped recording
For the last 4-5 months every few weeks my 9 HomeKit cameras will stop recording and stop sending notifications on any deceive. Setup includes 6 of the latest Apple TVs and 2 HomePods minis. iPads. iPhones. Watches. Mac’s.
It looks like to me that I’m hitting a data cap with iCloud because it stops for 2-6 days and then starts again without doing anything. And often happens right after a few days of very heavy uploading (usually triggered by a lot of motion events from rain).
if I go into any camera and disable and then try to reenable recording and streaming I get this error:
“Settings Error
There was an error updating the setting for this camera. Please try again later.”
I can change it to stream only but not record. And streaming still works fine anywhere but recording stops.
It has worked flawlessly for the last few years. But just has had this issue recently.
Any ideas Apple? Only thing I haven’t done is change the cameras to record only recognized events (people animals cars) instead of all motion. I average 30Mbps upload 24/7 to iCloud with peaks of 60Mbps. Internet is 1Gbps upload down fiber.
and cameras are mixed brands. So it’s not that.
It seems like the iCloud family plan one thing I have isn’t really unlimited camera data.
