I can't get the mic on my headset to work on iMovie

I just purchased an Earbay Model BT-1625 (ATS version) on Amazon. The mic works on other apps but I can't get it to work on iMovie. i want to add voiceovers to my videos.

Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.6
