I quite often used to listen to the same podcast on repeat overnight. I use to add them to the que and it worked great. Clearly there has been an update and now If I put the same episode in the que it skips them.
any way I can go back to repeating the episodes?

I confirmed the same thing happened to me when I queued up the the episode currently playing to also play next. I’m not sure why they removed that feature… I used to do smthg similar in grad school (it was the original 3 seasons of Arrested Development for me) so I get why you’d want to do it.
I did try alternating two played episodes in my queue, and they seemed to play through with no problem. Have you tried doing that? It seems like a pretty near equivalent to what you’re looking for.
