sync macos and ios without internet

I have a MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone. I do a lot of remote area travelling where there is no internet nor cell phone coverage and I would like be able to sync some files between my devices, similar to iCloud but without the cloud part, so if I make a change to a file on one device, it will be reflected on the others. I have looked at Mac Finder sync to iOS Files but it doesn't work without a network and it only copies, not sync. (I have read that airdrop can be used to sync, but no, it only copies not sync.) I have tried Tailscale but I may be misunderstanding but I can't get it to work either. I don't carry a router with me so it would be good if I could make the Mac act like a router and create a little LAN for me but I have not found a way to do that either. Any ideas?

Thanks

You obviously have some knowledge and understanding of what Sync between to different devices is and how it works  “ I would like be able to sync some files between my devices, similar to iCloud but without the cloud part

With the specific constraints, in your situation, “  travelling where there is no internet nor cell phone coverage

Using iCloud on both devices, you can make changes to a file on one device

Once both devices have an Internet Connect, the sync process should commence

Yes, this is a somewhat delayed Sync, depending on how long before a Cellphone Coverage is available or an Internet Connection is also available

Side note

Our oldest daughter is doing a 2 month Caravan trip from Darwin to Perth

Cellphone and internet coverages is spotty at best.

Every several days we do get Photos and Text message when they arrive at some hamlets or other places where such amenities become available

Thanks Owl-53. I am on an off-road trip from Broken Hill to Kakadu, currently in outback Queensland where the towns are a long way apart and comms is patchy. The town I'm in today has cell service but I'll be offline for the next few days bush camping. No ideas about how to make the Mac think it's a router?

Looks like it will be difficult or impossible to do so I think I'll just buy a cheap router and use that.

Hope you have a Source for Electrical Power yo keep both the Laptop and iPhone charged ?

As for a cheap Router

May consider a Mifi Router some of which run off a integrate Battery that will require recharging
