Apple Maps rendering issue in Mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra)

Just recently I discovered an issue with Maps on all of my Macs running Mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra). When in Satellite view, zooming in closer than 1 mile will show only sliver/gray blobs instead of the usual zoomed in satellite imagery. Not sure what has changed but this is occurring on a Mac Pro (2009), Macbook Pro (2012), and Mac Mini (2011).

I've searched endlessly for any mention of this issue and have not found anyone else experiencing it. But I do believe it is a new issue that seems to be from Apple's side. I've tried safe boot, cleared caches, etc. but still no fix. See photo below to see the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I just fired up an old 2009 MacBook running 10.13.6 High Sierra and had no issue with rendering in the Maps app satellite view, even when zoomed into the tightest view. In fact, I see the image of my property was updated not so long ago.

Being that OS X High Sierra is very obsolete, I will never be surprised when something like this happens and Apple does nothing to address it. Time and standards & protocols march on, support gets dropped and things like this are bound to happen.

In this case, since I don't experience the problem, I don't think it's on Apple's side. But I wouldn't know where to start looking, especially since you have three computers that are affected. I imagine the common denominator there would be your internet connection and service.

Thanks for giving it a go on your MacBook, D.I. And good to know it's not affecting you. Further testing shows this issue only affects certain cities and areas like Kansas City MO, Las Vegas NV, Amarillo TX, Wichita KS, and Washington D.C. But other cities are just fine, like Dallas TX, New York City NY, and Omaha NE.

It's an odd issue and I'm fully aware this old OS is no longer supported but was hoping there might be a work around. Thanks again for looking in to it!
