Private RSS feeds do not show up in podcasts.apple.com

While I'm continuing to shift away from using a Windows PC in my personal life (the work I do requires me to have a Windows PC), I prefer to listen to podcasts.apple.com instead of iTunes for Windows. One thing that I have noticed is that private RSS feeds, e.g., Patreon, do not show up as a subscribed show on podcasts.apple.com. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any plan for Apple to fix that? I can find the private RSS podcasts listed in all of my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Watch, Mac, TV), but not on the web.

In reality, it is not a huge deal; I still have iTunes installed and will use that to listen those particular podcasts, but it seems like a discrepancy Apple would want to fix. I noticed it as soon as Apple made the web version of Podcasts available, but as I mentioned, it is a minor issue.

Hi @tgwmo -

  1. I hadn’t noticed. But, to be fair, I only just figured out how to access the web interface from an ipad. (I had to switch from safari to chrome just to get it to open for me. lol.) Anyway, I couldn’t find a way to manually add RSS using this interface either.
  2. I doubt it. Imho, since you can access Apple’s premium subscriptions, this might be the podcast version of the green bubble. You can’t rate podcasts either. Personally, I’m not a fan of that type of business practice. At the bottom of the website there’s a Feedback link. I’d encourage you to log the suggestion. It would only take a couple minutes.
  3. And here’s a couple other technical resources…if anyone else knows smthg we couldn’t figure out, it’s probably one of these guys. You can submit a support request to Patreon there’s a link to that form here: Patreon RSS Troubleshooting. Last but not least, I did a quick reddit search and didn’t find anything there either. Which I found surprising. Consider posting this question to r/podcasting.

Cheers,

Luka
