Why won't podcasts play properly on my Linux PC ?

I click play, no problem. My laptop plays the thing.

I go to a different show, click play , nothing.

This is consistent, it's a specific set of shows,

it's the website apple.podcasts.com, from a browser.

and yet; I pick up this other thing... no problem. Instantly plays every podcast without fail even once....

but only on my iPhone..

... which has cool speakers and all, but not as loud as my laptop, and having

a consistent set of un-playable-lest-on-mobile

type podcasts I adore is rather frustrating , what might the community suggest is my next best approach ? either conceptually or procesually ?
