What does the dot above my iMessage mean on my iPhone 15 Pro?

earlier today I sent a message to a vendor I purchased a service from. It was a long message, subsequent messages included pictures of the failed service. After the message was sent a blue dot appeared on the upper right side of my message. What does it mean?
