We both have mac laptops, both have apple TV subscriptions and the show is available to watch in both countries (Apple TV original), why then does SharePlay not work? – Error message comes up saying not available in regions...?

The SharePlay functionality requires that all participants have their Apple Account for the same country. It is not intended to work internationally.
